Day 7 (07/09/2014)

Three things I'm grateful for.

1. summer rain- I love me some summer rain storms!
2. home cooked meals. My wife Katie is out of town for a couple of days. She made me dinner and I just had to put it in the oven and its was done! So I am grateful for that!
3. free food! Haha Yes I love free food. At work they brought in pizza. I know its little but it makes me happy!

good deed

Today one of my co-workers was turned down for a job he was sure he was going to get. I talked with him and helped him feel better about it. 

Day 6 (07/08/2014)

3 things I'm grateful for

1. 1st breath of life- I was talking with a few coworkers about childbirth and what we thought of it. It made me realize the true miracle of birth. I was able to watch both of my children take their first breath and it has changed my life forever. 
2. Friends- Its nice to have friends you can talk with and vent. I have had a few issues at work and it is so nice to have someone to talk to and help you with your situations you find yourself in.
3. Dreams- I am grateful that I am able to dream of a better time. I feel that if I wasn't able to dream of the future, I would struggle each and every day. I love being able to dream and imagine the life I and my family will have with the sacrifices we have to make.

Good deed for the day

Today I was able to recognize a person for being a great co-worker and I wanted management to know how much I appreciate him and how his work does not go unnoticed. 

To make up for yesterdays.....

We were at a park playing with the kids when I noticed a beer bottle. It was half full and I decided I should throw it away before any kid went and decided to try it. So I picked up litter....

Day 5 (07/07/2014)

3 Things I am grateful for today

1. The kindness of people. Yesterday I ran a stop sign right in front of a police officer. Luckily he gave me a warning so I didn't get a ticket. So today, I am grateful for people like him who want to help people even when they do dumb things like I did
2. A dependable car. I drive my wife's old Chevy Aveo. I HATE IT! However it is dependable and in good working order. So I am grateful to have a car that is working and that I can depend on whenever I need it
3. Having a job where my Management team really cares. My management team really cares and wants to develop us and our careers. It may drive me nuts at times but its great to feel like you have someone on your side.

Random Act of Kindness

So I kept looking for opportunities and failed to find one. I know they are out there and I'm sad I didn't do it. I will make it up and do 2 acts of kindness of Tuesday.

Three Things I'm grateful for

1. Relationships- I'm grateful for relationships and how they truly can make you happy.
2. Religious Freedom- With this weekend being the 4th of July, I was sitting in church and I realized, if it wasn't for religious freedom which is one of the main reasons we rebelled against England, I wouldn't be able to practice my religion. 
3. Soft grass and shade- We went for a family walk and sat under a tree's shade in the grass. It was so enjoyable to sit back and enjoy Gods creations.

Random Act of Kindness. 

I struggle with this and I don't feel this should count but my beautiful wife thinks so. I finally made her a birthday cake. I promised I would do it a long time ago and never did it so I finally did. It ended up pretty good I might add! I'm gonna work on finding better opportunities for my acts of kindness. 

Day 3

Today is day three. I feel that I did pretty well today. It was hard because I didn't do a conscience act of kindness. However, after speaking with my wife she helped me realize I did do something nice. I will explain below.

Three things I am grateful for....

1. Baseball. I am grateful for baseball and the happiness it brings in my life. Today was kind of an awkward afternoon as I went to a family thing and there was people I really don't know to well. However we were able to bond a little better and lose the awkwardness of the situation by watching a baseball game. (however my DBacks got killed)
2. My sense of humor. I am grateful for the ability to laugh at myself and well, just enjoy life.
3. Having my family be my friends. Kate is going out of town for a couple days next week and I am going to be by my lonesome. I found the my Utah Jazz are having an open practice. I really wanted to go but didn't know who to go with. Well I was able to call my brother chad, and now He and my Dad are going with me!

Random Act of Kindness

Today we put our old double stroller up for sale. I had a person call and was very interested in it. They didn't have a way to come look at it and asked if I was willing to drive to them. I did. This may not be a big deal, however I was able to help them get something that their family needed. Sometimes I feel a act of kindness isn't about how large of an thing you can do, but the little things do add up!

4th of July!!!!

Hello out there! Sorry I didn't post yesterday, It was the 4th of July so things got a little crazy in my house hold. Don't worry though, I got my things taken care of. Here we go!

Things i'm grateful for today. (yesterday)

1. Freedom- With today being Independence day, I was able to reflect on the importance of freedom and I realized, what that means to me!
2. Katie- I am so grateful for my wife, she means the world to me and I don't know (honestly) how I could ever live with out her.
3. A child's joy- with the holiday, we were able to have the opportunity to watch fireworks. Ellie, my daughter saw fireworks for the first time. She absolutely loved them. She was so excited! Seeing her joy of something I see yearly and to be honest don't get to excited over them, really helped me realize the small joys mean everything.

My random act of kindness today was helping somebody move some furniture into their home.  I was washing my car with my son Kyson, when I noticed a woman struggling to move a table and chairs into an apartment. So I walked over there and helped them. This helped boost my mood for the day and I really enjoyed helping. 

New Beginings

Here we go, I am going to start this today 07/03/2014. I will wrap this up on 07/24/2014.

Gratitudes

1. The first thing I am grateful for today is the opportunity to see the beautiful sunrise. I think we forget at times the beauty that surrounds us. 
2. A job. I may not enjoy what I do but I am grateful to be working.
3. Green lights I didn't hit any red lights on the way to work today and that may be something small but it does make your day that much better. 

Something  good that happened to me today was I was able to help someone. Katie's parents needed help moving an office from the top floor of their house to the basement. You may be wondering as to why this was a good thing that happened to me. We'll if you know me and my family, you know how much Kate's parents do for us. Today was so nice to be able to help them because we were able to repay them in a way for all the support and things they do for us. Service is a great thing! Especially when it's for family! I truly feel your most happy when your serving others. 

The Challenge

Within this challenge we are asked to do 5 things everyday for 21 days.

  1.  3 Gratitude’s daily

o    Write down 3 different things we are grateful for every day. This will reprogram our minds to scan for the positive not the negative.

     2.  Journaling

o    Journaling about one positive experience a day helps your mind to relive it.

     3.  Exercise

o    Exercise helps your body and is always good. It teaching your brain that behavior matters.

     4.  Meditation

o    Meditation helps us get over our cultural ADHD that we have been creating to do multiple tasks at once. It allows our brain to focus on the jobs at hand.

     5.  Random Acts of Kindness or Conscious acts of kindness

o    One act of kindness help create a ripple of positivity.
